Interactive Poster: Two-Tone Pseudo Coloring for Multiple Variables

چکیده
Two-tone pseudo coloring (TTPC) is an effective technique to visualize one-dimensional quantitative data. TTPC was originally proposed for only one-dimensional data. In this work, we present novel applications of TTPC. We combine TTPC with a table lens to facilitate the visualization of ndimensional quantitative data. To increase the applicability of two-tone pseudo coloring for data with high frequencies, we incorporate self-organizing maps (SOM). We also consider extensions that aim at improving the readability of TTPC.

EMACI: A Visual Interface of Multi-Parameters for Interactive Evolutionary Algorithm
This paper proposes a technique for visualizing the progression of evolutionary algorithms such as genetic algorithms (GAs). Our technique supposes that a GA solves optimization problems that maximize target functions with multiple parameters. Then, our technique presents the timevarying parameters during the progression of the GA. The technique applies two-tone pseudo-coloring for the precise ...
متن کاملEnhanced Interactive Spiral Display
Spiral displays have been developed to visualize the cyclic character of a data set. They are particularly useful for spotting seasonal patterns in time series data. This, however, requires expressive visual encoding and efficient interaction. In this paper, we improve existing spiral displays by applying the expressive two-tone pseudo coloring. This allows users to read off data values more pr...
متن کاملMultivariate Visualization of Socio-Economic Indicators Using Geographic Maps
National data on several socio-economic indicators are being collected and disseminated by various agencies including World Bank and United Nations. These indicators are typically visualized using well-known bivariate techniques including geographic maps, line graphs, bar graphs, and scatter plots, with some notable exceptions such as the visualization of four variables on a scatter plot by add...
متن کامل2-tone Colorings in Graph Products
A variation of graph coloring known as a t-tone k-coloring assigns a set of t colors to each vertex of a graph from the set {1, . . . , k}, where the sets of colors assigned to any two vertices distance d apart share fewer than d colors in common. The minimum integer k such that a graph G has a ttone k-coloring is known as the t-tone chromatic number. We study the 2-tone chromatic number in thr...
متن کاملVisual and analytical extensions for the table lens
Many visualization approaches teach us that ease of use is the key to effective visual data analysis. The Table Lens is an excellent example of a simple, yet expressive visual method that can help in analyzing even larger volumes of data. In this work, we present two extensions of the original Table Lens approach. In particular, we extend the Table Lens by Two-Tone Pseudo Coloring (TTPC) and a ...
